  • Another Rippers question

I feel a little dumb for asking this, but the presentation of Dr. Prometheus in both the original book and the RR books is confusing to me. It reads to me like he is character from the novel, but the novel makes no mention of him. I can't find any reference to him in literature at all. So, that makes me think that this character is invented in the whole cloth for Rippers. Which is fine, if there was just a touch more development. As such, I am uncertain. Can anyone confirm that he's just an invention of the setting, and I'll stop feeling like I totally missed something?

Also, the death of Moreau is presented in the Rippers books differently than in the novel, so that additionally makes me think that Prometheus is an addition just in the setting.
