  • Exploration Focused Soft Sci-Fi Setting - Aether Adrift

Hello, my name is Min, and I'm the president of Demonskunk Studios.

We're a tiny Minnesota based studio that got our license for Christmas last year, and we've been busily working on a Savage Setting called Aether Adrift.

The quick premise is that Human colonists have crash landed on a strange alien planet made of floating landmasses. They're too far from home to call for help, their ship is stuck in orbit and the escape pods containing colonists and supplies are scattered across the world. They form a coalition with one of the local peaceful alien species, the Mikwa, to help them fight back against an expansionist alien empire, the Fulgori. both Humans and Fulgori want the technology contained in the ruins of an ancient alien civilization. Humans hope it can help them help them repair or replace their ship. The Fulgori want it to further their military might.

The game will have 3 new playable races (Mikwa, Robots and Fulgori), a list of brand new equipment, edges, hindrances, a new twist on the spellcasting system, as well as rules for generating terrain and modifying and crafting items.

If that sounds interesting, we have a one-sheet adventure called Scientist Snatch and some pre-made characters you can use to take it for a test run on our site.

And we run an ongoing weekly playtest in our Discord server that you can join below

If you have any questions, please don't be afraid to ask!

    Thank you,
    Min Lungelow,

Not sure if the setting is going to have a plot point campaign or not, but the quick premise makes it sound like playing a Fulgori in a mixed party would be challenging at best.

That's something I forgot to mention! there are rebel fulgori that disagree with how their leadership is going about things. Fulgori players in a standard game would more than likely be rebels.
