  • [NE:BREAKOUT] Pricing Rules

I'm confused over how pricing / scavenging works.

"Relatively nonperishable consumables such as canned or dried food, toothpaste, and toilet paper are worth 10 times their normal value"

So if the players get a success on the scavenging table, they get

" 1d10 × $50 worth of general goods" (like the above). Lets say they get $250

Does that mean they have $250 or $2500 (x10) in terms of bartering power?

Per Scavenging, "Values listed in the Scavenging Table or Savage Tales are always at the inflated NYCP prices unless it says otherwise," and "The value of any salvage found is what it can be sold for. If a character finds $150 worth of junk, for example, he can use it just like cash and trade it for $150 worth of other junk."

So anything off the table is worth exactly what is listed as the value for bartering. It's when the character would be trying to get something specific that the modifiers come in. So if they wanted to trade their $250 of goods for soap which costs $1 a bar in the core rules, it would be $10 for a bar of soap in trade.

    Hope that helps.
