What if the caster got a normal success? Does the puppet need a raise to break control or just a success? If the caster does not give any commands that cause direct harm, does the puppet continue until the spell runs out?

The puppet only gets a chance to resist when given a command that would cause them to directly harm themself or someone they care about. If the caster gets a raise the puppet, when the puppet gets a chance to resist they can break control by getting a raise on their spirit roll.
