  • Edges that increase a natural weapon's damage die over your Strength?

If you have the Edges that increase the damage die of a natural weapon (Brawler, Bruiser, Martial Artist, and Martial Warrior) and increase your natural weapon's damage above your Strength, what happens? Is it capped by your Strength?

Per the blurb Melee/Thrown Weapons under Minimum Strength on p66 of SWADE, your damage die for a thrown and melee weapon is limited by your Strength, so if you have a d4 Strength and wield a Str+d8 weapon, you deal 2d4 damage. Is this a situation in which a natural attack is considered a melee weapon, and thus the damage die is capped at your Strength, or is this subsection not relevant to natural weapons at all?

For a clear example, a tiny martial arts master has Str d4, Martial Artist, and Martial Warrior. When he punches someone, does he do d4 + d6 or d4 + d4?

There is no limit on damage from natural weapons, so in you're clear example the answer is d4+d6.

Keep in mind the Minimum Strength stat is about the difficulty in wielding the weapon based on its bulk and/or weight.
