  • Summon Ally Scaled for Rifts and Allowed for Techno Wizards

The following modifiers for summon ally are added to the list of Mega Modifiers.

    MODIFIERS:
    • Heavily Armed (+1): When summoning an Attendant, Bodyguard or Sentinel, the automaton gains one of the following upgrades each time applied.
      • Enhanced Strength: (Strength is increased by 2 die types)
      • Integrated Melee Enchanted Weapon: (Str+2d6 AP 6 Mega Damage).
      • Integrated Ranged Enchanted Weapon: (Range 12/24/48, Damage 3d6+3, AP 6, RoF 1, Heavy Beam).
    • Heavily Armored (+2): When summoning an Attendant, Bodyguard or Sentinel, the listed Toughness and Armor is doubled and considered heavy.

    Bot Specialist
Requirement: Novice, Repair d6, and Arcane Background Weird Science or Techno Wizardry
The character has studied robotics and bots. They have even figured out how to micronize such automatons enough to optimize the creatures they build.
A character with this edge gains access to the Mega Modifiers for summon ally (shown above). Finally the character gains access to the Permanent modifier (below).
Note: If the character does not already possess the summon ally power, it is added both to his known powers and his power list.
    MODIFIERS:
    • Permanent (+0/summoned ally): Using this modifier requires a battery or power source capable of sustaining the automaton. The automaton remains animated indefinitely until the power supply is consumed, even if the creator is injured or killed. The Power Points used to animate the automaton are permanently expended and will not recover until the automaton is destroyed, consumed its power supply, or the effect canceled (via the creators willing it as a free action or a critical failure). Once canceled the creator may recover the power points normally again.

    AI Savant
Requirement: Seasoned, Repair d8, summon ally, Bot Specialist or Master of Magic, and Arcane Background Weird Science or or Techno Wizardry Techno Wizardry
The character's knowledge of robotics has advanced to such a point she can now design, repair and animate bots. The bots appear defective and with incomplete circuits or other missing components. However in the hands of the Savant they can be activated and send off on tasks as needed.
When using summon ally this character does not need to pay the increased Power Point cost for the first selection of Heavily Armed, or Heavily Armored modifiers.

Design Notes & Feedback from PM's or Other Sources:
Heavily Armed based on the performance of basic gear. The cost per the book is simply to high for the benefits provided in game.
Bot Specialist is useless and two advances if it does not include summon ally for the character.
Permanent is acceptable, but it should require an edge. Bot specialist is already a week edge, so adding Permanent to that edge makes it more useful.
I deliberately made permanent more expensive than Zombie or the shifter Bind the summoned abilities to avoid stepping on toes. However received the feedback the better balance would be the material component which the GM can set a cost to.

Multiple updates made based on various PMs sent via Google Hangouts or through www.savagerifts.com Google hangout.

Should Bot Specialist grant the summon ally power to those techno wizards or weird scientist who do not already have it from Heroes Journey?

Seems kind of useless if it doesn't grant the power to actually use the edge; robot minions feels like a serious oversight on the part of the weird science list anyway.

You are the third person to mention that (Tribe of One and Venatus Vinco also mentioned it). I edited it in.

Should that say "does not need to pay"?

And if so, does that mean the Savant can add all three each time?
