Greater Protection?

I noticed that Arcane Protection has a Greater version modifier but Protection doesn't. I was trying to remember if this was something the designers had talked about not doing as combined with armor, it can create a character who is nigh impossible to hit. However, I then noticed an NPC in Rise of the Runelords is listed with a potion of greater protection. I was wondering if this was overlooked if they decided not to have greater protection.

The removal of Greater from protection is intentional, leaving the Greater modifier on that potion was not.

Thanks for confirming Donald. I think then the NPC on page 32 of RotRL book one needs their stats changed as it looks like they are assuming having drank a potion of greater protection. Also, super excited that book one was released!
