  • Vehicles and Intangibility (and possible follow-up)

If a character activates intangibility while riding/driving in a car traveling at 20"/round, barring a specific Trapping saying otherwise, which of the following occurs:

A: The intangible character stops suddenly, and the car zooms on ahead.
B: The intangible character continues moving forward at 20"/rd; if the car changes speed or turns, the character just keeps moving in a straight line at their current speed.

If B: can the intangible character 'slow down' by walking in the opposite direction at their normal pace, shaving 6" (or whatever their Pace is) off their movement each round until they get to a safe speed to return to physicality?

There's really no way to answer this question with the caveat of "barring a specific Trapping" as it's a situational case which would be entirely incumbent on the trappings of the power. Consider the three trappings listed in the power's description along, "Ghost form, body of shadow, gaseous transformation." Each of those could react vastly differently in that one situation. The car might drive straight through the ghost, the shadow could stay in the car even if it turns, and the gas might get sucked out a crack in the window at speed.

So ultimately, it's up to the GM based on the trappings and the specific situation.
