  • Weird Science: using fighting for bolt, burst, or blast?

Would a "living" sword or other melee weapon that extended and snaked wildly from target while the hilt stayed stayed in the users hand use fighting? Would it be more appropriate for such a weapon to use throwing or shooting instead?

More specifically, is fighting disallowed as a skill for weird science direct attacks and, if fighting is allowed, are there any special stipulations attached to it? Off the top of my head, bolt could probably only hit targets within a much shorter range and blast would probably be centered on and around the user (as per limitations added by trappings).

Trappings for Weird Science are only limited by the creativity of the player which means there really are no limitations. So the decision on what skill would be used for a specific power based on its Trapping (or how such a Trapping would affect the mechanics of the power) falls to the GM.
