Thought I'd throw it up on my blog.

Some of you may remember it from this thread:

Damn, it's been three years.

So did you ever get around to doing the sequel featuring the Harlem Globetrotters? A possible title could be, "Squamous Georgia Brown".

I would love to see that sequel! I would love to run this at a con we have in February here in Denver. Then I could run your sequel in September.

I really don't particularly care for Scooby-Doo, it just being too goofy for my tastes, but that first set of minis just may change my mind...

I just thought of something that might be kind of cool for this. Instead of using the Veggie tales characters, which came much later, I think using characters from H.R. Pufnstuf would be interesting. Maybe H.R. Pufnstuf and Witchiepoo. That might be a little creepy.

Dang you Dave!! I have spent much of my day thinking about Scooby Doo. I have another question. Most con games are for 6 players and there are only 5 main characters. Who would suggest adding as a guest star to round out the party? I as thinking about using Don Knotts and just having Sandy Duncan be alone in the basement. What do you think?

I had a couple at work say Scrappy. For some reason, I don't really want to do Scrappy. Want to keep the 70's feel.

If you did Srappy, he'd have to have some ability that makes him the target of EVERYTHING.

"What?"
"They scream, 'Oh god help me I'm being mauled to death by a tiger.'"

Hmm, that leaves you with Scooby-Dum.

You could let them play Guest stars, say have Davy Jones and the Monkeys - that gives you 4 possible.

I'm running a Scooby-Doo adventure for my October mini-con as well.

If you're totally against Scrappy-Doo (which I understand) I'd suggest taking a page from the latest iteration of Cartoon Network's Scooby Doo; Mystery Inc. and use the Sheriff as the sixth character. This maintains the 'cannon' quality of the original 70s cartoon because the Sheriff inevitably appears without explanation during the unmasking of every episode.

I'd make him wildly stupid and incompetent with an over abundant amount of swagger -- think Barney Fife meets Dirty Harry! As far as his role in the party, he should be less concerned with solving the actual mystery than keeping things quite so he can get re-elected and enforcing the law. For example, he could stop a 'classic chase scene' to give the ghost a speeding ticket.
Until next time, keep rolling and Stay Savage!

A friend of mine ran a really fun game of Scooby Doo/Call of Cthulhu earlier this year for our large group. We had the whole Mystery Inc. group, as well as Scooby Dum, along with Special Guest Stars H.P. Lovecraft and Don Knotts as they investigated the mystery of Camp Crystal Lake. We spent most of the evening laughing and a grand time was had by all.

This is AWESOME!!!

I've been looking for a one-shot for my two sons and this fits the bill to a T!!!

They are both familiar, and enjoy, Scooby and the gang. Plus I already have their miniatures (the second pic miniatures).

OMG!!! I have GOT to get that van!!!

Hey, Dave.B...

In the adventure you have a Tentacled Thing write up.

In the adventure write-up you called it a Bhyakhee.

Did you just use the Tentacled Thing's stats (i.e. - was it one and the same critter)? Or did you have a different critter all together?

I have the Scooby gang, a Mi-go horrorclix for the main bad @$$ monster, plenty of zombies... Going to give this a go.
