Advances Vs Rank

#1 Postby raikenclw » Sat Sep 08, 2012 8:12 am

Given:

1) A character changes from Novice to Seasoned once they acquire twenty (20) Experience Points.

2) The same character earns one (1) Advance for every five (5) earned EP.

3) Advances are normally selected during the next down time period after they are gained but are assumed to represent knowledge/abilities gained "off screen" in between adventures, since they activate immediately (with no waiting period).

Question:

Is the Advance a character earns at 20 EP taken as a Novice Advance or as a Seasoned Advance?

[I'm leaning toward Novice Advance, but I'm not 100% certain.]

Once a character reached Seasoned Rank (20 XPs), they can take a Seasoned Rank advancement.

It doesn't matter if the rationale is learning the new ability "off screen" while a Novice, it only matters that they gained it after reaching Seasoned.
