Fillable PDF Character Sheets

#1 Postby PencilBoy99 » Mon May 28, 2012 1:53 pm

I'd like to make sure that I don't loose my various character sheets, so I've been using a scanner. I'd like to simply use a fillable PDF for Savage Worlds, but I've only found two - one which is beautiful but uses a comic-sans font so small it's unreadable and the other of which seems good until you get to the bottom of the page and discover you can only have one edge (it will just duplicate that row throughout the page).

Can anyone direct me to a usable, fillable (generic) Savage Worlds character sheet/

Where's the one with the one-Edge-in-all-spots problem?

Sorry, I deleted it in frustration.

Try here: http://www.savageheroes.com/conversions.htm

Two I found from that site:
http://www.savageheroes.com/conversions/SWRCRSv1.8.pdf
http://www.savageheroes.com/conversions ... llable.pdf

The second might be the one with the too-small font for you, but both do allow multiple edges rather than just one.

The last one is gorgeious, but when you print it out you can't read the type without a magnifying glass (only a slight exaggeraton). The other one is one I haven't seen before and looks like just what I need. Thanks!

How does one create a fillable PDF?

I have MS Publisher, which can save as PDF quite nicely, but not editable.

I have used the full version of Acrobat, which allows you to create form fields. Also, with 9.x and later you can save it so that Acrobat Reader is able to save the changes.

I have a small fillable Savage Worlds pdf character sheet here.
I have a Savage Worlds page sized one here, but only in french (I should make an english version).
I have sheets for other games here, if you want to have a look.
If you want to design them yourself, here is how I do it:
I make a .png background using a graphic program (Photoshop, but GIMP would work also, of course, or any graphic program), page size, 150dpi. All the fields names are placed on that background.
Then, I create a new document in Open Office, I import the .png image I have made as background, I define the fillable fields (I mean the places where you can input the values) and export the document as fillable PDF. That's it.
It is quite easy and you can use only free programs if you want.

I've made two sizes of fillable Savage Worlds sheets for my gaming group that you can see if you like or not. They do have a campaign-specific Glory tracker on them that probably wont be useful to you, but it doesn't really take up too much room.

Full page size:
With background (borrowed from Deluxe Edition CS)
Without background, for printer friendliness

A5 size, no background:
-It takes some trimming, but if you print it dual sided without fitting it to the page, the finished sheet fits inside the explorers sized books very nicely. This one also has a Fate spot that is campaign specific, as in our current game, each character is represented by a tarot card.
A5 Sheet here

None of them will be fillable until after you download it from google docs.

I'm picky about my CS.

Things I like on a SW Charsheet:
Skills linked to attributes. It saves my little brainpower to not have to remember if swimming is strength or vigor or possibly agility...

I love the edge 'progression' track that some sheets have. You know, where they have separate lines for each advance? The training wheels sheet has it. http://savagepedia.wikispaces.com/file/view/Savage+Worlds+Expl+Training+Wh+Char+Sheet.pdf/94216940 I got one from somewhere that does one better by having little marks by each line for tracking experience. This is my current favorite sheet.

...not form fillable, though. :(

What about a Supers based fillable sheet?. Not the NE one, but a Super Power Companion version?

What a great collection of character sheets! :-D
Dean: "Ya' know she could be faking."
Sam: "Yeah, what do you wanna do, poke her with a stick?"
[Dean nods]
Sam: "Dude, you're not gonna poke her with a stick?"
