Helpful Terrain Making Sites

Urban option sites for inspiration-

My Favorite miniatures rules and I LOVE their Zombietown!!! Made for the most part from K-line and Plasticville buildings. This could be anytown USA.

Another method for urban.

You might want to check out their articles for further inspiration.

You might also want to make terrain for the following,

Desert - Could be the Sahara or the south western USA.
http://www.esair.baueda.com/guides1.html - Desert rock formations. Painted differently it could be ice formations.

The top item. I cut off the stem and made little spiky bushes for the desert.

Imex makes great cacti for your desert.

Jungle/forest... silk plants, aquarium plants, etc... Seen those pinecones chewed by the squirrels on the ground? Perfect palm tree trunks.
Trim various silk leaves in the shape of palm fronds and hotglue them to the pinecones.

Other places for further inspiration:

I always make it a point, during this time of year, to collect some pumpkin stems. They make terrifically huge tree trunks for a lost land swamp or forest landscape.

Heroscapers, a fan site for the game Heroscape, has a great forum on custom terrain making. There's a lot of good fodder for inspiration, and some great tutorial threads as well.

Great links, and also many I haven't seen after years of googling :) Thanks for sharing them!

You all have probably seen my site (sig) where I have a lot of photos about terrain and miniatures, some printable stuff, terrain tutorials and WIP's. My (probably) next post shows how to create a fountain with statues and water pouring down from it.

(Update: Fountain tutorial now posted)

Thanks for the link to your site. I love the Steampunk stuff. I'll be stealing a few of those ideas...
