Thanks for the kind words! I've been working on this thing for way too long so it's nice to hear that somebody else likes it. (Now if only I can get my players to like it...)

I just posted v1.1, which is mostly a formatting overhaul (but I also changed space combat pursuit to be more like a Dramatic Task than a chase). Also a PDF version for people who like that sort of thing.

Very nice looking. I have heard that the original Fading Suns is a great setting but that the system was a killer. Now I of course know very little about the setting so where would I find some setting info?

It's an amazing setting -- easily my favorite setting of anything, ever. The best quick intro is probably this free download: http://sholarijames.com/fadingsuns/Docs/FSIntro2.pdf (It's also where I got all the art.) If you're into gaming fiction, the "Alustro's Journals" are pretty good -- poignant little short stories that each focus on some aspect of the setting.

Looks like a nice work. But if I have no understanding of this setting, which books should I get to read about the fluff?

Thanks! Most of the stuff in this doc is from Fading Suns core rules, 2nd edition (although I hear there is a 3rd edition out recently that is supposed to fix a lot of the game mechanical issues). The d20 version is kind of crap, but contains all the same setting info, so it might be worth snagging if you find it on sale or something.

Some stuff is from the Player's Companion: the Oro'ym race, some of the psychic paths, and a nice long section on the Changed. Player's Companion is a fantastic book with more good setting info too.

Edit: Of course for a free quick overview check out the intro doc I linked to above.

Hello,

we just started a campaign with your conversion (which I like very much). :)

But I wonder about the Noble and Rich edges, because it seems that, if I follow the starting money, a character with Rich would gain 300,000 Firebirds per year, which seems more than royal =D

What do you think about changing the Edge to 10,000 and 20,000 Firebirds yearly income for Rich and Filthy Rich?

Thanks,
x.

Has this conversion been playtested at all?

Well helloooooooooo.

This looks fantastic. Its the conversion I have wanted to make for years but have never had the time or energy, so I have basically just wished that someone else would do it. In fact, I recall years ago that you shared your earlier notes on this conversion with me and I planned on using them as a starting point. But now these look perfect.

I might take liberties at some point and work out other stuff from sourcebooks (other psi paths, etc.).
