Porting "Beliefs and Instincts" into Savage Worlds

This question is mainly directed at those of you who also know the Burning Wheel system. Have any of you toyed with the notion of porting the Beliefs and Instincts into a game of Savage Worlds? I'm putting together a game for some friends, but have a desire to make it a bit more goal-and-belief-focused than Savage Worlds usually tends to be. I think the Beliefs and Instincts could very well help to achieve this.

I'm currently mulling over how to tie them into the mechanics without being too cumbersome. Working them into the "benny" system seems to be the most logical route, perhaps replacing the bennies altogether with a "bonus points" kind of system based on evoking the Beliefs and Instincts.

Any thoughts?

Shark Bytes has an article on rounding out characters called Qualities that might work.

IIRC (and I should know this better than I do!) I think it is in the Deadlands issue. See sig below.
