Question on Gambling and other attempts to make money.

#1 Postby TatteredKing » Tue Nov 25, 2008 2:08 pm

I apologize if this has been discussed before. Did a search and did not see a topic that would cover it.

My players are attempting, in off times, to make money. I have instituted some pretty arbitrary rules for this, pulling an amount of money out of the air for how much money they could make with a success for busking or whatnot. With raises they make more.

For gambling, I allow a player to break even with a success, and come out ahead with raises.

I was wondering if anyone had come up with any mechanics that are a bit more flushed out?

Thanks!

There are gambling rules in the SWeX book IIRC. I will post page numbers when I get home, if no one beats me to it.

Yep, basically its a variant of an opposed roll (or it could be between two characters) with the amount of money gained or lost based on the difference between the results.

The gambling info is on page 8-9 of the SWeX book.
