Wait... is that the home of the Sasquatch?

No, but nice try. We're far too flat and prairie-ish to be the fabled Sasquatch Homeland.

(They just paid us a lot of money to name the province that so that people would be fooled. But the cheque bounced, so meh.)

I'm living in Regensburg, (southern) Germany at the moment.
I was born in Groß-Umstadt.

d4, with living in Darmstadt at one time could know my birth town, as it's in that general area.

Yeah, I'm kind of sad that I have yet to meet any of the other savages on this board. My Pirates game is taking off, and they could really use a wild card Master Gunner.

Dude! What would make you move to North Germany? Germans are coming in droves to us... ;-)

There was a famous actor-comedian called Helmut Qualtinger. The international folks may know him from The Name of the Rose. He played the old monk that was burned at the stake together with Ron Perlman.
Anyway, he had a couple of songs and couplets about the backwater mentality of the Austrian people in the 60ies (and, to some extent, today).
One of his songs went (and boy will this lose in the translation...):
Helmut Qualtinger wrote:Why would I want Venice,
Why would I want Paris
Why would anyone want that
If from Erdberg he is?

Erdberg being a part of Vienna.

So tartex, what brings you to Cologne? ;-)

I'm in "sunny" Sheffield in the UK.

Born in Cornwall; raised on various airbases in Malta, Norfolk, Middlesex, Cyprus, and Lincolnshire, before embarking on several years of aimless wandering around England pretending to study.

Kansas City, home to Shane's least favorite football team, and soon to be a smoking hole in the ground when the ghost rock bombs fall.

Yeah, we still do of sorts (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_ov ... erritories)

A few rocks and some sheep in far off places (come to think of it, that could be a description of the Shetland islands ;)

Cheers

Shetland Islands. Isn't that where those demonic little ponies come from?

I've been afraid of horses ever since a Shetland Pony kicked me and bit me. I was six. All duded up in my cowboy hat and chaps and six guns. Was going to have my picture taken. Little Monster! Not Me...The Pony

Wonder why Wiggy lives in such a place. Demonic Ponies :1eek:

I never got a chance to chime in to this little bit of census...

I was born and raised in and around the Rochester, NY area (mainly Greece, NY (up until '76) and then Spencerport, NY until I moved away in '92).

In 1992 (after graduating from SUNY Brockport), I drove a moving fan across the country to Hollywood, CA. Since then, I've lived in Hollywood, Los Feliz and finally, Burbank, CA (where I've lived since, oh, '95 or so...)

And that's the truth! :)

I've lived my whole (although short) life in Finland, in the town of Kuusankoski.

Great place to live if you can stand the occasional smell of the factories.
