[Slipstream] Racial Edge Points

#1 Postby Trigger » Thu Nov 15, 2012 8:42 am

In the following text:

All races begin with a free +2 Edge from the list below.

Additional Edges must be countered with an equal value of Hindrances. A +2 Edge, for example, may be countered by a single –2 Hindrance, or two –1 Hindrances. Individual Game Masters should decide on the maximum number of racial Edge points allowed in their game, but 4 to 6 points is not unreasonable.

Maybe a dumb question, but is the Free +2 Edge counted in the racial Edge points decided by the GM? So if one would say a cap of 6 points, those six points include the free +2 Edge or not?

The +2 would count towards the total; it's a max for all bonuses. And keep in mind, it's a guideline to help from going "overboard" on race creation. If a particular race needs to go to +7 or +8 and you don't feel it's unbalanced, you can make an exception.
