a couple of persuasion questions

#1 Postby kreider204 » Sun Apr 08, 2012 8:16 pm

1) SWEX, page 10, under Persuasion: " A successful Persuasion
roll improves the NPC’s attitude one step, or two with a raise." SWD, page 26: "A successful Persuasion roll improves the Extra’s attitude one step, or two with a raise." Does this mean that Persuasion no longer works against Wild Card NPCs?

2) In a recent third-party product, there is mention of using Persuasion as an opposed roll against an NPC's Spirit. That's not correct, is it? Persuasion isn't normally an opposed role, right?

Thanks in advance, as always.

It should work against any NPC, not just Extras.

I have no frame of reference to answer as I don't know the context of what was stated in the other product. We certainly have products where Persuasion could be used in an opposed roll, so it isn't infeasible and could be a perfectly cromulent Setting Rule in fact.

That said, a "normal" Persuasion roll to change an NPC's attitude isn't an opposed roll.

Hope that helps.
