spike pit damage

#1 Postby Red Mercy » Sun Dec 07, 2008 3:39 am

Does anyone know how much damage a run-of-the-mill spike pit does? I'm guessing falling damage + an extra d6 for the spikes. Thanks!

That sounds pretty good to me. Fall damage + spear damage.

Thanks Epoch. As long as I'm on the topic: I guess this is more of a core rules question than anything, but I'm sure there's lots of people who know the answer to this: am I right to assume that damage rolls from said spike pit can ace? The rules say ALL trait and damage rolls... I'm just wondering if there's a slightly different consideration for inanimate things.

Attacks against inanimate objects cannot ace, but attacks made by inanimate objects can ace just as falling damage can ace...

Hm, I didn't know that first part. I'm glad I asked. Thanks!

Huh, even I didn't know damage against objects could not ace. I knew it couldn't get bonus damage with a raise on the attack roll though.

Guess I missed that part of the sentence, but I see it now.
